Christmas

For pday we went downtown again into Trujillo and visited the plaza which was all Christmassy and cool. We also passed by the only McDonalds in Trujillo that i know of and there were 6 companionships that all happened to plan the same lunch spot.

For the 24th we didn`t have any appointments so we visited pretty much everyone we knew and right before dinner we went to visit one family who insisted that we have a turkey dinner with them. So we did and then we were headed back to tell our pensionista that we don`t need dinner because we ate so much food at the members home. When we walked in, though, she had a table neatly prepared with tons of food and their whole family was waiting until we got back to eat. She served us a reasonably small plate of food but it took us about an hour to eat and my comp just about threw up 3 or 4 times which was scary. After that we went back to our room and everyone was partying and we didn`t sleep much that night. At about 1:30 in the morning we had someone yelling for us through our window and we woke up and they were inviting us to a dinner because apparently everyone waits until midnight to have their Christmas eve dinner.

On the 25th everyone finally went to sleep at around 7am and hardly anyone came to church. We were both recovering from eating so much food last night and every time we visit somebody they offer us a ton of food because everyone on Christmas is lying around eating and talking with family. Then skyped, of course, which was super.

Transfers were also on Christmas and it took them until about 11 in the night before they called us. My companion is staying and I’m moving more towards the city center in Florenicia de mora in  a ward called el tumi. so I leave on Tuesday.
