This week wasn´t very packed with a
bunch of exciting stuff. We had two more baptisms though, so that was exciting.
For pday we went out for lunch as a district and someone bought us 2 bottles of
inka kola. Then we went to play soccer but after a bit decided that it´s too
hot and went in and played Uno.
Valentines day here, I guess is more
just friendship day. We had our baptisms this day though. There´s this church
next to our room that was holding some sort of dinner for youths and had a band
that played all night.
Wednesday we had a small service project
in the morning where we cleaned someone’s yard that was basically buried in
garbage and bricks. Then we went to this giant store to take out money for our
pension. It´s kind of like Costco but it´s called Tottus. We found mac and
cheese and were saving that for our dinner tonight and I’m really excited. We also found captain crunch but it was super
expensive worth more than a days worth of meals. That night we found a stand
that sells huge burgers for like a dollar.
Thursdays we do our planning for the
week but since we live next to a bakery we went there first to get some snacks
to help with the planning. Then that night we have this activity every Thursday
called Noche Misional and we had like 60 people come which is the most so far
since I’ve been here.
Friday we had interviews with the
president in his air-conditioned office. Then I talked with the mission
president’s wife and they said that they had a violin that they could let me
borrow but the only thing is our president is pretty strict about not letting
the missionaries practice instruments. That night I learned how to solve a
Rubik’s cube.
Saturday was kind of boring. All of our
appointments fell and almost everybody was busy so it was pretty hard to find
someone to let us in to sit. So we went back to the hamburger stand to cheer us
up. The church band was playing again this night.
Sunday was pretty normal. We just
proselyted with a member, which was nice because he knows where everybody lives.
There was also this giant dance competition at the park near our room for these
cool kids. Also at the same park there was like a skateboard competition or
something because there was another crowd of people with cameras filming all
the skateboarders
