This week was pretty cool. Pday we
stopped by the ruins of chan chan, which are 20 minutes from our pension. When
we left chan chan and headed to the Trujillo temple my companion realized he
doesn´t have his camera. So we left to go back to chan chan and we made it
right before it closed and we were looking all around where we were sitting and
asking people. We found the same taxi that took us to the temple and found his
camera in there, so that was pretty cool.
Also this entire month is a holiday
called SeƱor de los Milagros which is finally finishing up today and this
entire month practically every night there have been lots of fireworks and
spontaneous parades.
This week we also had interchanges and I
went with another north American which was kind of nice to have things
explained to me in English. With him we also taught this family who is originally
from Brooklyn and they all speak English, and so we actually had a lesson in English
and Spanish, and for some reason it was the weirdest thing because we were never
taught to teach in English but the guy we taught is super cool.
Then that night on the interchange
(which was with Elder Hiskey who is that one kid I met in the temple back in June)
he was telling how when they first got here how there was a lot of activity in
the middle of the nights. They have since blessed every single room in the
house, but have still had a couple reoccurrences. That night we shouldn´t have
been talking about it because we were both really paranoid and couldn´t sleep
the entire night. Especially when there was banging on the door to our room and
then at another point a bunch of lights turned on for a bit then turned off.
That was pretty much it.
Then this other time this super old lady
we had just visited came running out of her house and gave us 2 large sticks of
sugar cane which I thought was kind of weird but this was my first time having
sugar right from the source and it is so juicy and good.
One other funny thing that happened to
me was when I woke up and was doing my usual morning routine, Our neighbor was
blasting that one song from groundhogs day.
Ya that’s all. Have a good Halloween
