So to start off this week we went to the
mission home with our zone for pday and played some games, drank inka kola, and
just kind of did whatever. On the way back, for some reason, our bus was pulled
over and some police boarded and everyone on the bus pulled out their
identification cards and the police started taking them. Also these police are
a little more scary than the ones back home and have ak-47s on their backs and I
was talking with some other north Americans because we weren´t really sure what
was going on and also our visas had expired about a week earlier but luckily
they didn’t bother with all the kids in white shirts and ties. I asked later
what that was all about and they just said drugs.
On the way to the mission home my
companion left his camera in the taxi again but to make it even worse he had
taken my memory card out of my camera for some reason and put it in his camera.
So now since my photos are gone I’ve been taking extra pics this week.
This week we had another meeting with
all the missionaries from my group in the ccm and the mission president. We
just went around and said what we learned. It´s also weird meeting back with
the Latinos from the ccm and actually having more of a conversation with
them.
Our area is one of the largest in our
zone and includes this more poor area called virgen de socorro which we have
been able to have more success in but it is pretty far from our pension and is
really hard to find people who are home. Or in other words the people there are
a lot cooler and nice but it´s harder to find them when they´re not busy.
We´ve had a lot of FHE’s with members
and less actives this week and those have been pretty good so far. And every
time we pass this members home in the virgen de socorro their dog follows us
for the whole day until we return it and it just waits outside the homes when
we are inside and it caught this lizard the other day which was cool.
We went out with a member youth the
other day and he showed us where we can by packs of pokemon cards which are
pretty cool because sometimes kids would rather get a pokemon card than a Jesus
card. In turn we showed him where you can buy these awesome churros filled with
caramel for S/0.50, which is like $0.15.
I don´t really know what else to say,
this email is pretty weird and all over the place. ---->Here’s some pics
