Hello from Florencia de Mora. Right now
the sun is super strong.
MONDAY for pday we went to the plaza of
Trujillo to eat again as a district. Found a place that sells some ties for s/5
which is like $1.50. We also met up with a group of other elders eating and so
we went all together to this one store and when we saw the ties we all started
casually speed walking and destroyed the only tie rack in the store. Went to
Chan Chan again because my comp hasn´t gone yet and that was really cool and
hot. Then afterwards finally got my haircut.
TUESDAY Nothing too special happened. We
lost power from the shower again. 2 companionships in our district broke their
phones and we couldn´t communicate with them so we climbed the mountain to our
zone leaders to get their new ones. We did a lot of street contacting because
no one has school right now because this is like their summer break but we put
in an entire evening of this and found no one and whenever we find someone who
seems golden they don´t live in our area.
WEDNESDAY we had the world wide
broadcast and I got to listen to it in English but the audio and video was way
out of sync the entire time so looked like it was dubbed like the Spanish so
listening in English didn´t feel so special. The broadcast itself was super
cool and it changed a bunch of stuff it´s weird only having 4 key indicators
and having our pday start at 8 and all that stuff but just gives us a lot more
flexibility with our schedule.
THURSDAY just a normal day. We had
another baptismal interview and lately our district is having a lot of baptisms
this end of the month.
FRIDAY we had a service project at
almost the top of alto Trujillo to this person’s small property of just sand.
What we did is buy a bunch of potato sacks and tear down her old fence and put
up a new one. I put on sunscreen but still got a terrible burn, I guess I’m
just too white. I also found a doll when we were digging in the sand it is
super interesting, I´ll put some pics of it in because it´s cool but it was
dirty so i gave it a bath and hung it up to dry. Then in the night we visited
some other investigators and their house was flooded so we helped them clean
that up.
SATURDAY we ran super hard this morning,
but way too hard because we had a full day of walking ahead of us. Just
recovering from my sunburns this day .
SUNDAY we didn´t have time to eat
breakfast this morning because church starts at 8 and afterwards we have ward
council and after ward council we had another baptismal interview and after
that we had to go to the zone leaders to give them some paperwork to change our
pension and after that we finally ate. Sundays are great for proselyting
because most people are home but almost everyone is partying and drinking all
day so usually they become very interruptive when contacting and all of our
appointments fell this evening so we did a lot of contacting with people that
just ended up with drunk people asking a bunch of unrelated questions and
usually ended with them falling asleep.
That was my week.. love you all.
