La Esperanza

Hola Familia,
Much has changed. We arrived in Trujillo on Tuesday and we met the president of the mission and the assistants and were oriented to the mission and such. We then got to visit the mission home for lunch. The mission home is the only house in Trujillo that has carpet and it’s small but super super nice.

My new companions name is Elder Alcarraz he´s from around Cusco and doesn’t speak any English but he´s pretty cool. He knows the language of the natives and it sounds super cool I think it´s called ketchwan.

My area is los robles en Esperanza. It´s a pretty nice place you can probably google it, i think, but from the roof of our apartment thing we can see the ocean and when it´s not too cloudy you can see that you´re surrounded by super sweet mountains. The first couple of days i had no idea what was going on and i just followed my trainer and went to a lot of lessons and tried my best to understand but after this week I can only understand maybe one third of what is being said and can maybe express only one third of what I really want to say during lessons. I think that’s pretty good but that’s mostly because Elder Alcarraz can understand everything and i don´t need to really completely understand yet.

We had zone conference this week so I was able to meet everyone...elder garner from my district at the mtc is in my zone as well as this other sister from Spokane which is pretty cool. Every Monday and Friday our entire zone plays soccer which is awesome.

Also this week for a few days was this celebration called senior de los Milagros....so there were fireworks and music for a few nights and also a few parades happened which I guess was separate from seƱor de los Milagros and was for some school. It´s a really packed community and everyone is pretty cool.

It´s not too hot yet and the food is great...oh yeah we have a pensionista who is super cool and she and her family are all members and live underneath us....and also this morning after soccer the keys to our room fell out of pocket in one the little taxi things so we got to get another one of those.

All is well and good
