Floods

MONDAY just played some soccer because we had nothing else to really do. Afterwards had an FHE with a PF family.

TUESDAY we cooked some Ecuadorian food because it´s our last day in our pension because we are moving somewhere closer to our room and also we are switching because our new pensionista is an investigator who wants to be baptized but can´t because they haven´t had enough money so we´re hoping this helps.

WEDNESDAY First day in the new pension. Had a really long lesson with this old man we contacted into who just wanted to read the bible chapter after chapter and we couldn´t talk with him so we had to slowly excuse ourselves. Went downtown to get more money and went to one of our many investigators who only lack marriage before they can baptize and taught them a bit.

THURSDAY we had a super short breakfast and went to the mission office chapel for zone conference training for 6 hours. That was good though. They gave us jump ropes and a new book for missionaries about using technology but even though we don´t have ipads they gave it to us anyways. They also gave us a little health talk.

FRIDAY tried out my new jump rope. Did some planning. Then had a baptismal interview and waited an hour for the person to get there which was a drag but in the meantime we rescued a cat from the chapel. Afterwards did some contacting and on our way to dinner we were stopped by a clown in a dark street that was actually just lost and probably on some drugs but he wanted directions to the market for some reason, because it was pretty late.

SATURDAY it has been raining a little bit recently but just a little rain has caused a lot of problems because there isn´t anywhere for the water to go like a storm drain so it just piles in random places and since many people don´t have the best roofs just flooded peoples houses and got in a bunch of power lines and many people have been without power this week. Also many people´s houses are just sand or tarps so also destroyed some houses...and this was only like a normal day in Washington. We went to work on the little property on top of Trujillo and since the sand was wet it was easier to dig. The lady who we were working with told us of the last time it rained really hard that it flooded this cemetery on this hill and all the bodies surfaced and this river of bodies traveled all throughout Trujillo all the way to the plaza. I don´t know if this is real but someone should look it up maybe search something like ´´1997 river of dead people Trujillo´´

SUNDAY we just did a bunch of contacting all day and found a bunch of cool people. Also today are the transfers and my companion is leaving and now elder Guerra will be my new companion.
